Having tried to convince myself for years that professionalism and sentimentality, mind and heart, business and intuition cannot co-exist, I have come to realize that they can.
Being professional doesn’t mean to hide one’s vulnerability. On the contrary, we can only exist authentically by embracing and harnessing our emotions.
Diversity exists not only among people, but also within people. And while we walk hand in hand with some of our diverse aspects, others, such as our emotions, are sometimes cut off.
I have learned that the most agile, flexible and effective individuals, teams, organizations, families and communities are those who have based their operation on openness to emotion.
Be it an individual or an organization, the way to live happier and more productively requires acceptance of our integrity, our differences, our gifts. This becomes possible by combining our worlds, not keeping them apart. Our heads with our hearts, our determination with our compassion, our will with our enthusiasm.
